Podiatrist-Designed
SoleRest Orthopedic Sandals
Ultra-cushioned EVA arch support that unloads your feet the moment you slip them on — built for the hours after the shift.
SoleRest runs true to size. If you have wide feet or prefer a roomier fit, size up.
Size Guide
Measure the length of your foot from heel to tip of your longest toe, standing on a hard floor with full weight on the foot. Match that measurement to the size guide below. If you're between sizes or have wider feet, size up — EVA foam has natural give and a roomier fit is better for recovery wear.
The SoleRest & SoleSupport System
SoleRest and SoleSupport address different phases of the same day.
SoleSupport (insoles) goes inside your work shoes — correcting alignment, absorbing impact, and reducing the cumulative stress that builds through an 8–12 hour shift on hard floors.
SoleRest (recovery sandals) takes over the moment your shoes come off — providing active arch support and EVA cushioning during the recovery window, so your feet aren't spending those hours flat and unsupported on hard floors.
Together, they cover the full cycle. If you've been wearing SoleSupport all day, slipping into SoleRest immediately after is the fastest way to accelerate foot recovery before the next shift.
| Size | US (Women) | US (Men) | Foot length |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 6–7 | 4–5 | 9.1–9.6 in (23–24.5 cm) |
| M | 7.5–8.5 | 5.5–6.5 | 9.8–10.2 in (24.8–26 cm) |
| L | 9–10 | 7–8 | 10.4–10.8 in (26.5–27.5 cm) |
| XL | 10.5–11.5 | 8.5–9.5 | 11–11.4 in (28–29 cm) |
| XXL | 12–13 | 10–11 | 11.6–12.2 in (29.5–31 cm) |
Measure in the evening when feet are at their largest. Foot length increases throughout the day.
When & How to Wear Them
Post-shift: Slip into SoleRest the moment your work shoes come off. The arch support keeps your plantar fascia in a supported position during the recovery window instead of leaving it flat on hard floors.
Morning routine: Plantar fasciitis pain peaks with the first steps out of bed. Keeping SoleRest beside the bed and stepping straight into them prevents the cold, unsupported first steps that cause micro-tearing in the plantar fascia.
Break time: Switching into SoleRest during a 20–30 minute break significantly reduces cumulative impact fatigue by end of shift — if your environment allows casual footwear.
Indoors & outdoors: The anti-slip EVA outsole handles wet bathroom tiles, kitchen floors, and light outdoor surfaces like decking and smooth pavement.
Materials & Care
Material: Single-piece EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) foam — the same material used in premium athletic footwear midsoles. Lightweight, impact-absorbing, and resistant to compression set under daily use.
Durability: EVA holds its cushioning for 12–18 months of daily use before the foam begins to compress permanently. The sandals will feel noticeably firmer underfoot — that's the signal to replace.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse and air dry. EVA is fully waterproof and dries in minutes. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Odour: EVA naturally resists bacterial growth. For deeper cleaning, soak briefly in diluted white vinegar (1:3 ratio with water) for 10–15 minutes, rinse thoroughly, and air dry.
How It Actually Works
Five design features. Each targeting a different source of foot and leg pain.
CONTOURED ARCH SUPPORT
Most shoes flatten your arch under bodyweight, forcing your plantar fascia and foot muscles to overwork all day. SoleRest's deep contoured footbed matches the natural curve of your arch — offloading the plantar fascia, reducing overpronation, and giving the tendons and ligaments underneath your foot a genuine rest between shifts.
DUAL-DENSITY EVA FOAM
Every step on concrete or hard flooring sends impact force up through your heel, ankle, knee, and lower back. SoleRest's EVA foam footbed absorbs significantly more impact than standard footwear — distributing pressure evenly across the entire sole instead of concentrating it at the heel.
ROCKER GEOMETRY
Recovery footwear works differently from regular shoes. SoleRest's slight rocker geometry promotes gentle forward motion, encouraging the natural rolling gait your foot uses when unconstrained. This keeps foot muscles gently engaged during the recovery window — reducing next-morning stiffness and getting you back to full capacity faster.
TEXTURED GRIP OUTSOLE
The deeply textured EVA outsole provides reliable grip on wet bathroom tiles, kitchen floors, and hospital corridors — the surfaces where most at-home slips happen. The grip pattern channels water away from the contact surface, maintaining traction in the exact environments where standard footwear fails.
SINGLE-PIECE EVA CONSTRUCTION
SoleRest is built from a single piece of EVA foam — no stitching, no adhesive layers, no hidden materials. Zero break-in period, no pressure points from seams, and under 200g per sandal. Wipe clean in seconds. Built to outlast years of daily recovery use.
CONTOURED ARCH SUPPORT

Questions? We've Heard Them All.
Measure the length of your foot from heel to the tip of your longest toe, standing on a hard floor with your full weight on the foot. Match that to the size guide above. Yes — and particularly for the first-steps-in-the-morning pain that most plantar fasciitis sufferers know well. Keeping SoleRest beside the bed and stepping directly into them prevents the cold, unsupported first steps that cause micro-tearing in an already-inflamed plantar fascia. The contoured arch support also holds the fascia in a supported position during recovery hours instead of leaving it flat and unsupported on hard floors.
Yes. The anti-slip EVA outsole provides reliable grip on smooth outdoor surfaces — paved paths, decking, light grass — as well as wet bathroom tiles and kitchen floors. They're not designed for hiking or uneven terrain. Think: around the house, to the car, poolside, light errands. For anything with significant distance or uneven ground, SoleSupport insoles in proper footwear is the better call.
They cover different parts of your day. SoleSupport goes inside your work shoes — correcting alignment and absorbing impact through your shift. SoleRest takes over the moment your shoes come off — providing arch support and deep cushioning during the recovery window. If you're using SoleSupport and then going barefoot or thin socks on hard floors for the next 12 hours, you're undoing a lot of that recovery. The two together cover the full cycle.
EVA foam holds its cushioning for approximately 12–18 months of daily use before compression set causes a noticeable reduction in cushioning. You'll feel it — the sandals will feel firmer underfoot than when new. That's the signal to replace. With occasional use (a few times per week), the lifespan extends significantly. The outsole grip typically outlasts the cushioning.
SoleRest runs true to standard width. If you have wider-than-average feet, size up — the toe area opens up proportionally, giving more room across the ball of the foot. Many wide-footed customers find that a half-size or full-size up in SoleRest feels more natural than their regular shoe size. Contact hello@soolemate.com if you're unsure and we'll help you decide.
Wipe down with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Rinse and air dry — SoleRest dries completely in minutes. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. For odour, a brief soak in diluted white vinegar (1:3 ratio with water) for 10–15 minutes followed by a thorough rinse and air dry is all that's needed. EVA naturally resists bacterial growth, so deep cleaning is rarely needed more than monthly with regular use.
SoleRest is designed for recovery — the hours when your shoes are off. For extended shift use, SoleSupport insoles in your work footwear will serve you better. That said, many customers who work in environments where casual footwear is acceptable (home care, some clinical settings, kitchens) do wear SoleRest for full shifts and find the cushioning excellent. For 8+ hours of standing, pairing both products is the most complete solution.
Yes. SoleRest is available in several colourways — select your preference from the colour option above. All colourways use the same EVA construction, footbed contour, and outsole grip. The colour is integrated into the foam rather than applied as a surface coating, so it won't chip or fade with normal use.
30-day free returns. If SoleRest doesn't work for you — for any reason — return within 30 days for a full refund. Sandals should be in good condition (trying them on at home to check fit is fine). Email hello@soolemate.com to start a return.
What People Are Saying
My plantar fasciitis is genuinely better after three weeks
I've had plantar fasciitis for two years. My podiatrist told me to stop walking barefoot on hard floors at home — so I spent six months in terrible house slippers with no arch support whatsoever. Then I found SoleRest. The contoured arch support is the real thing — you can feel it actually making contact with the middle of your arch, not just sitting below it uselessly. Three weeks in, my first-steps-in-the-morning pain has gone from a 7/10 to maybe a 2/10. That's the first meaningful improvement I've had. I keep them right next to the bed and step into them before I even stand up properly.
Twelve-hour shifts on hospital concrete and these are the first thing I reach for after
Twelve-hour shifts in an ICU. I started wearing SoleSupport insoles in my work shoes this year and they made a real difference to my heel pain during shifts. Then I read that you're supposed to use supportive footwear at home too — not just at work. I tried SoleRest for a week. The difference in how my feet feel by the next morning is significant. Less stiff, less inflamed, more ready. I've been at this for a month now. I'd recommend both products together — they cover different parts of the same problem.
I actually look forward to getting home now
That sounds dramatic but hear me out. I teach elementary school — six hours on my feet on hard gym floors and classrooms. By 3pm I used to be counting down minutes. Now I keep SoleRest in my bag and swap out of my work shoes on the drive home. By the time I walk through the door my feet are already decompressing. The cushioning is genuinely different from anything I've had before — you can feel the difference in the heel area especially. Three months in and they still feel exactly like the first day. Nothing has compressed or worn flat.
My feet stop hurting faster since I started wearing these after work
Warehouse job, concrete floors, 9-hour days. I already wear SoleSupport insoles at work — they sorted my arch pain during shifts. But I was still in pain when I got home. A colleague mentioned that going barefoot on hard floors at home is actually making recovery worse. I got SoleRest and have been wearing them every evening for two months. My feet stop hurting noticeably faster after a shift now. I feel better in the mornings. The cleaning is dead simple too — one wipe and done.
Worth every dollar if you're on hard floors all day
I'm a barista — concrete floors, six days a week. My Achilles and heel were constantly inflamed. I tried three different 'recovery' sandals over two years — all of them felt like wearing slightly padded cardboard. SoleRest is noticeably different. The arch support actually makes contact with the arch. Two months of daily use and the cushioning hasn't collapsed. My heel inflammation is way down. For anyone standing on hard floors all day: this is not optional, it's a necessity.
First steps in the morning used to be the worst — not anymore
I'm a physio assistant so I know enough about plantar fasciitis to know the morning pain is about the fascia tightening overnight when the foot is unsupported. My therapist told me to wear supportive shoes the moment I wake up. I put SoleRest by my bed and step into them before I even fully stand. Took about a week to notice the difference. Now the morning pain is maybe 20% of what it was. The outsole grip is also good on my tiled bathroom — I was worried about that. No slipping.
The combination with the insoles is something else
I got SoleSupport insoles about four months ago. They genuinely changed my working day — less arch pain, less fatigue. Then I figured I'd try SoleRest to close the loop. The combination is noticeably better than either alone. The insoles handle the problem during the day and SoleRest handles the recovery window at night. My feet feel like they've had a proper rest by morning now rather than just... less tired. I'm a retail manager — 10 hours on my feet most days. I did not expect to care this much about footwear.
I've tried four recovery sandals. These are the first ones that actually work.
After two years of plantar fasciitis I've tried: OOFOS, a generic Amazon pair, a physio-recommended pair, and now SoleRest. SoleRest is the first where the arch support is genuinely in the right position — you can feel it making real contact with the middle of your arch. The heel cup is also deeper than the others. I'm doing stretching exercises too so I can't attribute everything to the sandals alone — but the combination is working. Five stars.
Very comfortable — takes a day or two to find the natural fit position
The arch support is real and once your foot settles into the right position it's excellent. The first day I felt like the arch was hitting in a slightly odd spot — by day two my foot had naturally found the correct position and it felt completely different. So if your first impression is 'the arch feels off', give it a couple of days. The cushioning is genuinely good and grip on wet floors is better than I expected. Taking off one star because the first-day experience was a bit misleading.
Great cushioning — wish there was a half-size option
I'm a US 8.5 — right on the border between M and L. Went with M per the size guide. The cushioning is excellent and my arch pain has improved noticeably. The fit is fine but just slightly snug across the ball of my foot. I've been wearing them daily for six weeks and they've softened a little. I'd give 5 stars if there was a half-size option — the product itself is genuinely good.
Good product but shipping took longer than expected
The sandals are solid — the arch support is real and the cushioning is better than my previous pair. My plantar fasciitis mornings have been noticeably better. Three stars because shipping took 9 days which is longer than I expected. The product itself would be 5 stars. Hopefully the shipping improves — I'd order again otherwise.
Wrong size arrived — replacement sent quickly, product looks excellent
Received a L when I ordered M. Contacted customer service and they sent a replacement within two days, no fuss. The replacement fits perfectly and the product is excellent — the arch support immediately relieved the heel pain I've had for months. Leaving 2 stars for the initial error but will update once I've had more time with the correct pair.
Passive recovery. No extra effort.
Up to 3× faster. Just wear it.
